Gimme That by Malcolm Rue Ft. A Tribe Apart MP3 Download
Malcolm Rue returns with Gimme That alongside A Tribe Apart, giving familiar gospel hymns a fresh Afrogospel setting built for today’s listeners.
At its heart, the song is about holding on to the truth of faith even when everyday life moves quickly and constantly demands attention. Rather than treating the old hymns as something belonging only to church services, the record places their message in a more youthful setting, making reminders of God’s grace and assurance easier to carry into ordinary moments. Musically, it draws from Afrobeat, gospel and world music, with church keys, choir vocals and a strong rhythmic foundation creating the feel of a lively worship gathering. The track runs for about 2 minutes and 55 seconds, keeping the arrangement compact while allowing the familiar hymn material to sit naturally inside the contemporary production.
Released on August 14, 2026 through Infiltrate Music, the record reimagines portions of “Amazing Grace” and “Blessed Assurance” rather than presenting them in their traditional arrangement. Malcolm Rue is a Nigerian-born, Uganda-based recording artist and producer whose work blends Afrobeat with gospel, rap, pop and other contemporary influences, while A Tribe Apart is an East African gospel collective known for combining Afrobeats, Amapiano and Western gospel.
There is a familiar quality here for anyone who grew up hearing these hymns, but the new rhythmic setting gives them a different place in everyday listening. It works especially well for listeners who want worship music that still carries the weight of its message without sounding disconnected from contemporary African sounds.
