SIMON SAYS by Sampa The Great MP3 Download
Sampa The Great returns with SIMON SAYS, a bold record about creative freedom, industry pressure and the need to stay true to yourself.
At its core, the song questions the pressure people face to meet other people’s expectations. For artists, that pressure can come from fans, the music business, social media and even streaming numbers. However, Sampa The Great pushes back against that mindset. She chooses self expression over approval. Her lyrics carry a firm and confident tone. At the same time, the production adds extra weight to her message. The track mixes hip-hop with rock and Zamrock influences. Guitar sounds, bass and hard hitting drums give the record a strong edge. As a result, the song feels direct and energetic without losing its deeper message.
The song was released on September 10, 2026, the track is a preview of Nu Zamrock, Sampa The Great’s upcoming third studio album. Loma Vista Recordings is set to release the project on October 30, 2026. The album draws from her Zambian roots and her family connection to the early Zamrock scene. In particular, her uncle George Kunda, known as Groovy Joe, was a founding member of the pioneering Zambian band WITCH. Sampa uses that connection to explore Zamrock through hip-hop, soul and poetry.
For listeners who enjoy rap with a clear message, this record offers plenty to think about. It speaks to anyone who has ever felt pressured to follow a path chosen by others. More importantly, it encourages independence and honest self expression. The strong production also makes it easy to return to beyond the first listen.
