Shenseea is a Jamaican dancehall singer signed to Columbia Records, and Vulnerability is a deeply personal modern dancehall record about emotional openness, trust, trauma and learning to face difficult parts of yourself.

Vulnerability strips back Shenseea’s usual confidence to explore the emotional walls she has built around herself. The production sits on a restrained dancehall foundation while her delivery moves between melodic lines and direct, conversational verses. Its writing touches on family, relationships, motherhood, trust issues, career struggles and the desire to become emotionally stronger.

Released on September 25, 2026, the 3:13-minute single was issued through Columbia Records/Since ’93, under exclusive licence from Shenyeng Inc. Shenseea co-wrote the song with Jo Caleb and Kyle Evans, who also produced it, while Jose “PANIIK” Morales handled recording engineering and Niko Marzouca and Robert Marks are credited for mixing.

The most striking musical detail is the contrast between the repeated plea for emotional openness and the highly specific personal verses that follow it. Shenseea moves from guarded reflections into memories about her parents, relationships and the pressures surrounding her career, giving the record a confessional quality without abandoning her Jamaican vocal character.

Vulnerability gives Shenseea room to speak beyond the confident image often associated with her biggest dancehall records. It is an introspective release built around self-examination, showing a more exposed side of her writing and performance.
