Self Aware by Temper City MP3 Download
Temper City are an Israeli alternative-rock trio based in Los Angeles, and Self Aware is their moody debut single, blending dreamy guitar textures with a restless story about attraction, doubt and emotional distance.
Self Aware moves between indie rock and alternative pop, with clean guitar, electric bass and punchy live drums creating a dark but catchy backdrop. Eytan Peled’s warm vocal delivery keeps the performance intimate, while the lyrics capture the tension of wanting someone while already knowing the relationship may not work. The result feels both vulnerable and slightly detached.
Released on February 15, 2026, the three-minute single was issued under exclusive licence to Thirty Knots. Peled handles the vocals, while Chen Kordova and Aviv Barenholtz contribute keyboards and synthesizer, with Kordova and Barenholtz also producing the recording.
The production gives the song much of its character, combining clean guitar with a lo-fi, lightly saturated texture and a steady rhythmic pulse. The trio have been noted for drawing from indie-rock and alternative-pop influences, while the track’s emotional writing helped it connect with listeners beyond its initial release.
Self Aware introduced Temper City with a sound that feels polished without losing the looseness of an indie-rock band. Its mix of atmospheric instrumentation, expressive vocals and complicated romantic writing gives the record an easy late-night appeal.

Quotable Lyrics:
Oh (Oh)
No smoke with no fire
No silence if there’s no sound
One way or another
You’re going to put me out
Drinks flowing like water
Too drunk to turn off the light
Stay under the covers
