Coco na Yam by Yemi Alade Ft. Ferre Gola MP3 Download
Yemi Alade joins forces with Congolese singer Ferre Gola to serve Coco na Yam, a cross border record that connects Nigerian pop with the rich sound of Congolese rumba.
The song celebrates African beauty, attraction and the joy of expressing admiration without holding back. Its message feels playful, while the musical direction gives the record a strong cultural identity. Yemi Alade handles the main vocal with her familiar melodic style, while Ferre Gola adds his distinctive French and Lingala delivery. The production draws heavily from Congolese rumba and its dance influences, with a bright guitar pattern standing out around the hook. There is also an Afropop presence in the rhythm, giving the collaboration a natural connection to contemporary African pop. As a result, the song feels both rooted and modern without losing its danceable character.
Released on September 11, 2026, the track appears on Yemi Alade’s seventh studio album, It’s Yemi Alade. The 16-track project was released through Effyzzie Music and features artists from different parts of Africa, including Bien, JeriQ, Don Jazzy and Singuila. The collaboration with Ferre Gola also continues Yemi Alade’s history of working with major African artists beyond Nigeria.
For listeners who enjoy African music with strong cultural influences, this collaboration offers an interesting meeting point between West and Central Africa. The contrast between Yemi Alade’s Afropop style and Ferre Gola’s rumba background gives the record its own character. It is an easy choice for dancing, social gatherings or simply exploring different African sounds.
